Other Community ProgramsAside from its very active food pantry, WIN’s annual community service programs include providing Summer Sneakers & Tees, School Supplies and Back-to-School Clothing Store Vouchers to registered families with school-age children. Also, Thanksgiving Baskets are distributed in November which include a frozen turkey and all the fixings to prepare a Thanksgiving meal.
Together with the Wayne Township Department of Social Services, eligible families are identified for these programs. |

Thanksgiving
|
Thanksgiving Baskets are distributed on the Sunday before the holiday, filled with various items generously donated by WIN member organizations and other community groups. Baskets include a frozen turkey, stuffing, gravy, fresh vegetables, canned vegetables, fresh fruit, dessert, coffee and other fixings to help families prepare a nutritious Thanksgiving meal.
** Last year, due to COVID-19, supermarket gift cards were distributed instead of baskets so each family could purchase the items necessary to make their own holiday meals. Provisions will be provided again this year whether we continue with gift cards or are able to go back to baskets. If you would like to help support our Thanksgiving program, please earmark your monetary donation for "Thanksgiving". |
